Winterport man to prison in connection with deadly Prospect crash

PROSPECT, Maine (WABI) - A Winterport man will spend three-and-a-half years in prison in connection with a crash in Prospect two years ago that killed two men.

33-year-old Adam Littlefield pleaded guilty Monday to operating after revocation and violating conditions of release for an unrelated incident.

More serious charges of manslaughter and aggravated OUI involving a death were dropped last month because of insufficient evidence.

Littlefield was one of three men in a pickup truck on North Searsport Road in September of 2016.

All of them were thrown out of the truck when it hit a utility pole and rolled over.

59-year-old John Moriarty of Bangor and 35-year-old Brad Pomeroy of Searsport were killed.

Prosecutors say DNA vidence on the driver's side airbag could not conclusively prove that Littlefield was driving, which lead to the more serious crimes being dismissed.
