AUGUSTA, Maine. (WABI)- Viles Arboretum opened their new wetland boardwalk to the public today.
It has been a three-year-long project that consisted of removing the original structure and building a new one.
The boardwalk is free to the public and has been visited by thousands each year in the past.
Viles Arboretum has hundreds of acres of fields, forests, wetlands, and a botanical collection.
"This takes you through probably the richest wildlife section of the Arboretum of our 224 acres. It is the feature that almost every visitor that comes to the visitor center is interested in locating because it gives you an up-close perspective on wildlife."
