Folks took a tour around the Waterville area Sunday to be a part of going solar.
Participants of the tour were able to connect with others interested in solar power and see solar power systems first hand.
The tour is the largest grassroots solar event in the United States.
Organizers tell us this tour is a great way for the community to learn about something that can be very overwhelming.
Vaughan Woodruff, an Organizer says, "This really helps demystify the technology. So that home owners and businesses that are looking to install solar can hear directly from the folks that own solar, as to what their experiences have been, how they've saved energy, whether it's been a benefit for them, any challenges they've had, and so forth."
Organizers tell us they are already planning for another tour next year.
