AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Flood warnings are continuing along low-lying areas in parts of the state where rivers are overflowing with runoff from spring snow melt and heavy rains.

Officials closed the waterfront off early Saturday morning in Augusta as the Kennebec River was over its banks on Front Street.

A flood watch remains in effect for much of northern Maine. A flash flood warning is in effect for southeastern Aroostook County.
