PERHAM, Maine (WAGM) - Washburn Fire Chief Nathan Allen says a 16-year old driver lost control of her vehicle at the intersection of the Nutting and Carson roads Saturday around 8 a.m., striking the corner of a home on the Carson Road.

The driver also struck a propane tank, breaking the line. Washburn Fire & Rescue and Emera Maine responded, shutting off the propane and electricity to the home.

Caribou Fire & Ambulance Service transported the driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, to Cary Medical Center for minor injuries. Her car sustained significant damage, as did the home.

Both car and home were insured. The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office investigated the crash.
