The Valentine's Day bandit has returned to Portland for another year.

Every Feb. 14, the bandit puts up paper hearts and heart banners all over the city.

It's a tradition that dates back to 1976.

Since then, the person responsible has remained anonymous by putting the hearts up overnight.
