Update: Darius Minor is football player who collapsed and died Tuesday at UMaine

UMaine first-year football player Darius Minor is the player who collapsed and died today during a workout on campus according to the school.

He is an 18 year old from Locust Grove, Virginia.

The defensive back collapsed early in today's preseason workout. UMaine's release details the events: "He collapsed on the field at approximately 1:15 p.m., 15 minutes into a supervised light workout. Campus athletics training staff and local first responders were unable to resuscitate him."

Also in the release head coach Joe Harasymiak, who was at CAA Media Day today in Baltimore, Maryland, issued a statement, “Words cannot express the grief we have following this tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Darius’ family and friends during this terrible time.”
