CORINNA, Maine (WABI)- Imagine getting a call you think is from someone trying to sell you something.
You hang up.
Then, you find out that call was informing you won a car...
That's exactly what happened to Marie Gallison of Corinna.
She donates five dollars every week to the United Way through her work.
Every year the United Way awards a car to someone who gives back.
On Monday Gallison was presented with a 2018 Volkswagen Jetta S donated by Darling's in Bangor.
Gallison says she was having a really bad day when that call came in.
"When I heard the voice and United way, I thought, I give at work, so I said, I said that,''I give at work, leave me alone!' And it was the next morning that Jessie from United Way called," said Gallison. "It feels like things are happening good for a change."
The United Way and Darling's have been awarding donors with Cars for seven years now.
