BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Undercover elves were on duty Friday in Bangor.
The elves were at Wal-Mart.
They were dressed just like members of the Bangor Police Department.
They even had the Duck of Justice with them.
The "elves in blue" were helping to collect toys for the Salvation Army to give to families in need this christmas.
One of the really tall ones who calls himself wade tells us they couldn't do this without the generosity of the community.
"One of the first people that pulled up this morning was a gentleman that had recently closed an Ebay business and he had a bunch of toys leftover and he brought those in and I would say hundreds of dollars worth of items," said Wade.
The undercover elves will be dropping the collected items off to the folks at the Salvation Army.
Last year they collected more than 500 toys.
