FREEPORT, Maine (WABI) - Maine State Police said a Gardiner man has died after his car "went out of control" in Freeport on Interstate 295.
Officials said 50-year-old Raymond Bisson, of Gardiner, collided with a car in the southbound lane then, crossed the median and collided a third vehicle.
They said this was the first fatal crash on Memorial Day Weekend in Maine since 2014.
It happened around 10, Saturday morning.
According to police, speed is likely a factor in the crash and Bisson wasn't wearing his seat belt.
We're told the driver of the second car was not injured, and a three members in the third vehicle were taken to Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The northbound lane of I-295 was closed for more than 3 hours while authorities investigated.
