ISLESBORO, Maine (WABI) - It's time to register if you want to be part of a group of people who will swim more than three miles in cold ocean water to benefit Lifeflight of Maine this summer.

"Islesboro Crossing for Lifeflight" brings attention to medical needs in rural areas.

There's a limit to the number of swimmers that can take part.

They dive in in Lincolnville and swim 3.1 miles to Isleboro's Grindle Point Lighthouse.

There is a registration fee and spots fill up quickly.
