Sugarloaf Owners Cited by OSHA Following Employee Death
The company that owns Sugarloaf Mountain has been cited following the death of an employee earlier this year.
TV5 News learned this after filing a Freedom of Information Act Request.
23-year-old Alexander Witt of Farmington was preparing a competition course on one of the trails in March when he lost his footing and slid down the course.
He was not wearing a helmet.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration found Sugarloaf did not have proper safety policies in place and fined its operators more than 11,000 dollars.
The company now has a helmet policy in place for all employees at all of their resorts.
