State prison inmate charged with murdering fellow inmate
A state prison inmate has been charged with murder for the death of a fellow inmate last year.
34-year-old Zachary Titus was indicted Tuesday by a Knox County grand jury.
It was unsealed Thursday when he was served an arrest warrant.
Titus is accused of killing 28-year-old Dana Bartlett in June at Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren.
Just this month authorities ruled Bartlett's death a homicide.
Titus was sent to prison for two years for theft. He started serving his time last March.
Bartlett was also sent to the Warren prison in March.
He was serving a 16-month sentence for theft and operating after habitual revocation.
Bartlett's fiancee and another inmate say on the day Bartlett was killed, he asked to be moved from his cell because he feared for his safety.
