Spectacular light show in Bangor holds special meaning

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A spectacular light show is back in Bangor for another year.

The Hathaway house has been lighting up their Hillview Drive neighborhood for seven years.

In total, the show features more than 40,000 lights for folks to see.

To hear the music that goes along with it, you can turn into 88.1 FM.

But, to this family, it’s more than just holiday lights.
There's a special meaning behind them.

Rick Hathaway said, "Every year, we do this display and we raise money for the Northern Lights Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our son, Warren, spent 51 days in there with our younger son Alex passing away early off so, to be able to give back to them is the true meaning."

Donations for the NICU can be dropped off at their house.

Santa is stopping by Saturday night from 6 to 8. There will be hot chocolate and cookies there as well.

If you miss him, he'll be back December 15th.

The holiday display is up and running until the 26th.
