Harmony man charged with sex crime appears in court Monday morning

SKOWHEGAN, Maine (WABI) - A long time employee of the Somerset County Jail who's charged with a sex crime was in court Monday morning.

Phillip Campbell, 65, of Harmony was arrested by state police at his home Friday.

He's charged with unlawful sexual contact.

If convicted, Campbell could face up to ten years behind bars.

Sheriff Dale Lancaster said Campbell has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.

In court Monday the judge ordered Campbell not have any contact with anyone under the age of the 18.

The judge also ordered him not to have any contact with the alleged victim.

Campbell was released on bail later on Monday.
