BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Sleepout for Homelessness.
That's what people from all over the community will be doing in Bangor this weekend.
It's happening at Paul Bunyan Campground to help homeless families in the Bangor area.
Families and Children Together is a newer non-profit working to get homeless families off the streets, out of the cold, and into a shelter while they help find them a home.
This camping event will help with their shelter and other services.
They say there aren't currently any other family shelters in the area, which leads to some families not being able to stay together.
The campout begins Saturday at noon at Paul Bunyan Campground on Union Street.
It's $22 per tent site or for virtual campers who would rather camp from home but still want to help.
