GORHAM, Maine. (WABI) - Republican Shawn Moody and his supporters were in Gorham last night.
Just a little after midnight, the long time business man-turned-politician conceded to Janet Mills.
After addressing his supporters, he spoke - focused on the campaign he ran and the "blue wave" some feel is a result of unhappiness with the Republican party nationally.
"'m not politically astute enough to really comment or, I just don't have the background. You guys can do the analysis on that. Just the feeling on the street was that there was some energy behind the voters today. Obviously not happy with the outcome that's for sure. It wasn't a lack of effort. We have a great team. We have great supporters. We worked hard and I don't think we left anything in the tank. So I guess to answer your question I would say that we gave it everything we had and we came up short." said Moody.
Moody plans to return to work in the private sector.
