Senior Watch: The ERA Study

Emily Haigh from the University of Maine's Mood Disorders Lab is in to talk about an upcoming study that they need volunteers for.

The Department of Psychology at the University of Maine in Orono is looking for seniors, 60 years of age or older, to participate in a paid research study to investigate emotional and physiological responses to mood changes.

To be eligible for this study you must being 60 years of age or older, willing to travel to UMaine campus for study sessions, and no knowledge of computers are necessary.

If an individual is qualified for participation there will be 3 sessions. The first session in an interview at UMaine or a community residence for about 1.5 hours, with $20 compensation.

The second session is a physiological recording while you complete a computer task at UMaine for about 1 hour, with $15 compensation.

The third session is a questionnaires available online or by mail, completed remotely for about 30 minutes, and will include entry into a drawing with a 1 in 10 chance to win a $25 Visa card.
