Recovery Coalition hopes to gather enough donations to save Camden home

CAMDEN, Maine (WABI) The Midcoast Recovery Coalition still needs community support to save a Camden home.

The building located at 63 Washington Street has been a landmark in the town for over a century.

It used to be housing for the elderly but could soon be used as housing for women who are in recovery from substance abuse.

But the group only has until Monday to raise $160,000 or the house will be sold to another buyer and used as a private residence.

As of Wednesday afternoon, they are about $25,000 shy of the goal...so a donation of any size could make a big difference.
