Public Utilities Commission To Investigate CMP After Customers See Bills Increase

HALLOWELL, Maine (WMTW) Central Maine Power will face an investigation by the state after several complaints of high power bills.

The Maine Public Utilities Commission voted Tuesday morning to launch an initial summary investigation into CMP.

PUC officials said the agency received 80 complaints in January and 20 so far in February. Some customers have complained after seeing a large increase in their bills.

The agency said if you see an unusual increase in your bill to contact CMP first and if that doesn't work, then reach out to the PUC.
