UPDATE: United Express flight has issue while landing at Presque Isle International Airport

A United Express flight had a rough landing at Presque Isle's airport Monday leaving a pilot and four passengers with minor injuries, that according to city officials.

The plane left Newark, New Jersey and landed in Presque Isle around 11:30 Monday morning.

The plane touched down then slid off the runway.

A local official said it was the pilot's second attempt at a landing.

There were 28 passengers and three crew members on board.

There is visible damage to the aircraft.

Part of the landing gear was torn away, and the nose cone was damaged.

The plane will remain in place until the FAA arrives to assess the situation.

The airport is closed until further notice.
