Police say a driver crashed after leaving another accident in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A bad crash on the Finson Road in Bangor Wednesday.

Police say a driver lost control of her car after leaving another accident.

Witnesses say it was a scary scene.

They say the van came speeding down the road, went off the road, and slammed into a tree in the front yard of a home.

Police say the driver was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

They say not long before the crash, she hit another car on Union Street and fled the scene.

No one was injured in that accident.

They weren't far behind her when she lost control of the car.

We spoke to a couple who live across the street from where the crash happened.

"My first thought was, get the door open. I started tearing on the door to rip it open, and the window broke out, and the dog jumped out. We were able to get the door off enough so that we could get her to move her seat back a little bit until the responders came. But it was scary, that's for sure. I've never seen anything like it," said john Paradis.

Police say they used the Jaws of Life to get her out.

She has not been identified.

No word yet on if charges with be filed.
