ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) A Rockland man is charged with false reporting after posting on social media that he'd found a needle in his son's Halloween candy.

That's according to police who say 29-year-old Justin Sanford said his son had bitten into the candy that he'd been given while trick or treating.

Sanford also reported it to police who determined Sanford had made it up.
