EAST MACHIAS, Maine (WABI) - The Attorney General's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened Saturday night in Machiasport.

Authorities say it all began with a home invasion in East Machias earlier that day.

According to police, a woman called to report a man had entered her home, showed a weapon and demanded money.

A warrant was issued for 33-year old Jason Jackson of East Machias.

Washington County deputy sheriffs, along with a Marine Patrol officer found Jackson at a residence in Machiasport.

According to the Attorney General's Office, a confrontation with the Marine Patrol officer resulted in both Jackson and a woman at the home being shot and wounded by the officer.

That officer is on administrative leave, according to the Maine Marine Patrol but the government office is refusing to release the name of the officer involved.
