GUILFORD, Maine (WABI) - Students in Guilford took some time to get out of their classrooms and get active.
Piscataquis Community Elementary School hosted its Winter Carnival.
Activities such as sliding down a hill, making snow art and snowshoeing kept the kids pretty occupied.
The carnival is part of the winter kid games, a program to get kids outside and enjoying what winter has to offer.
Anita Wright, Principal, "It's a great opportunity for the kids to connect with the outdoors and the heritage that's so much a part of where they live. "
This is the second time the school has participated in the games.
The Winter Kids Challenge ends Friday.
