DEXTER, Maine (WABI) - According to a hospital spokesman, the pilot of a WWI replica plane that crashed Wednesday, has died.

Authorities say 78-year-old Rodney Wright of East Corinth was taxiing when the plane crashed at Dexter Regional Airport.

Wright was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Airport officials think the crash may have happened when a strong gust of air flipped the plane.
