BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - November is "Ride The Bus Month"
And to recognize that, the group Transportation for All, held a gathering near the bus stop at Pickering Square in Bangor Tuesday.
As the buses rolled in and passengers were dropped off downtown, the group had hot chocolate and information waiting for them.
The group feels it is important because so many people from so many backgrounds use the bus and are impacted by it.
"All across the community, the social interaction between people would be advanced with a more advanced bus system," said Theodore Rippy who is on the Board of Directors for Food & Medicine the group that operates Transportation For All. "The bus system's working good now as it is, but we want to see it improved."
The City of Bangor is working on a transit study to see how the region is impacted by public transportation, and this group wanted to find out what those who use the bus felt about the current system so they could have a say in the study too.
