KINGFIELD, Maine (WABI) - One person is dead and two others are in critical condition following a crash in Kingfield Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say around 3:30 p.m. a car was driving south on route 27 when it lost traction and started to skid sideways into the path of a tractor trailer which was driving north.

Police say one of the passengers, 28-year-old Seth Gordon of Farmington died instantly.

The other passenger in the car, 18-year-old Scott Kidder and the driver 76-year-old Leroy Gordon who are also from Farmington were taken to the hospital.

Officials say the driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

We're told road conditions at the time were poor due to the snow storm.

The crash remains under investigation.
