The Bar Harbor town council has decided no cruise ships will be allowed to dock there until July 1st.

The council's vote was unanimous.

It came after members discussed the number of residents who had expressed concerns.

With many cruise lines cancelling trips due to COVID-19, there was only one ship scheduled to arrive in Bar Harbor prior to Memorial Day weekend.

On average, nearly 300,000 cruise ship passengers visit the coastal town each summer.
