BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - In Bangor a pair of New Year's babies were born at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Liam Thompson was born to parents Sarah and Luke in the typical fashion, inside the hospital, around noon.
It was a little different for Jennifer Sicard-Flood.
She went into labor Monday morning and on the drive to EMMC, she ran out of time.
The new mom gave birth to Lucas Wayne Flood in the front seat of a pick-up in the parking lot.
Andrew Emery from the Bangor Fire Department was among those called to the scene to help.
"It's a good New Year's Day call," he said. "We've had a lot of fires here this week and car accidents and other stuff, people getting hurt and damaged property, so it was nice to see a new kid, a new life."
Hospital officials say both Liam and Lucas and their parents are doing just fine after their exciting mornings.
