New Disturbing Details Released in Case of Waterville Couple

WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) New details are being released about a Waterville couple accused of sexually assaulting a child.

Court documents say 35-year-old Jennifer Stevens and her husband, 36-year-old Michael Stevens, sexually abused the child from at least age 9 to 12.

The records say both of them would force the child to perform sexual acts on them and did the same to her.

The documents go on to say Michael Stevens would tell the child if she didn't want to participate, she would be forced to clean the house.

The court records also say the child was forced to watch exorcism movies and was told if she told anyone what was happening, she would be filled with demons.

We withheld many of the details because they are very graphic.

Kennebec County District Attorney Meghan Maloney spoke about the case Tuesday. She says, "The information that you have is the public information but even that, it's not information that we can talk about on the air because it's not information that the public really can hear about. It is that disturbing."

The documents reveal there may have been other children physically and mentally abused.

The couple was arrested February 1st and are being held at the Kennebec County Jail on $250,000 bail.

They're due in court in April.
