BELFAST, Maine (WABI) A mother from Troy found guilty in the death of her 7-week-old son will spend the next 13 years in prison.
32-year-old Miranda Hopkins was sentenced today after a jury convicted her of manslaughter last month.
Her son, Jaxson, died in January of blunt force head injuries.
Hopkins told investigators that she must have "blacked out" after drinking multiple shots of liquor and smoking marijuana that night.
She said when she woke up, Jaxson was dead.
Hopkins maintained during her trial she didn't how the baby died, but prosecutors argued that one of her two autistic sons may have been responsible.
