Man accidentally shot himself outside Bangor restaurant

Authorities say a man accidentally shot himself in the leg outside a Bangor business Sunday afternoon.

According to Bangor police, just after noon the man was parked outside the Bangor Mall Boulevard restaurant and while exiting his vehicle a loaded handgun fell to the ground, went off and shot him in the leg.

He had to be taken to the hospital.

No charges will be filed for the accidental discharge.
