The busiest part of Maine's annual deer hunt is entering the final days.
The main firearms season for deer ends this Saturday. Then the muzzleloader season runs from Monday, Nov. 26, through Dec. 8, with the second week restricted to certain parts of the state.
Muzzleloader guns are popular with a subset of hunters and are afforded their own hunting season.
Saturday also marks the last day of the year for the bear and moose hunting seasons. The archery season for deer extends until Dec. 8 in some parts of the state.
