Maine's best tasting water named in Bangor Thursday

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) Where will you find Maine's best tasting water?

Samples from communities throughout the state were put to the test in Bangor.

Two categories in the contest, water with disinfectant and water without.

This annual event drew 32 entries.

In the non-disinfected category, Point Sebago of Casco was judged to have the best water.

In the disinfected category, ACAP Child and Family Care Center of Caribou was named best water, they also claim bragging rights of Maine's overall best tasting water.

Russell Plourde, Water Operator for ACAP says, "It's quite a responsibility to be the Operator to keep safe drinking water to the public and to the different places that I operate. I take pride and making sure that they're drinking the best possible product that we can deliver."

Plourde will represent Maine in the National Taste Test in Washington, D.C. in February.
