WAYNE, Maine (WMTW) - A Hartford man is dead after Maine State Police say he crashed his SUV into a utility pole in Wayne.

Troopers said Michael Fitzherbert was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was headed north on Route 133 in Wayne on Saturday morning when authorities said he hit the pole and flipped the SUV over.

CMP crews worked in frigid temperatures for three hours to restore power to the area.

Part of Route 133 was closed.

State police said speed may have been a factor and Fitzherbert was not wearing his seat belt.
