Maine island bans visitors over coronavirus fears
A Maine island is taking a big step in an effort to prevent the spread of coronoavirus.
The North Haven Select Board voted Sunday night to ban visitors and seasonal residents to the island which is located about 12 miles from Rockland.
According to the town's website, all travel to and from the island will be for essential purposes only, including medical care and to get groceries.
The island has a year round population of around 350.
