AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Energy officials in Maine say the price of heating oil has tracked up slightly over the past month.
The Governor's Energy Office said on Thursday the average statewide cash price is now $2.90, which is 4 cents more than a month ago. Kerosene is now $3.50 per gallon, up 5 cents in that time. Propane is $2.88, up a penny from last month.
The prices have mostly held steady since the middle of January. They are all more than the average 2017-18 heating price, which was 31 cents less for heating oil.
The energy office says heating fuel prices are remaining mostly flat in the face of lower crude prices. The office says this year's heating season has been colder overall than last year, and that plays a role.
