Marine Patrol officials who had been searching for a missing boater recovered a body Friday about 20 feet from the Richmond town landing.

The identity of that person has not been released.

Maine Marine Patrol is leading the search for 64-year-old Mark Johnston of Richmond near the town landing on the Kennebec River.

Reports of him being missing came in just before 9:30 Thursday night.

They say he was planning to move his boat from a mooring to the town dock earlier in the evening.

He was last seen on security cameras at the dock around 6 Thursday evening.

At 10:30 Thursday night patrol officers found his boat aground on the west side of Swan Island.
