Maine Correctional Center in Windham reports first coronavirus case, officials say
The Maine Department of Corrections is reporting its first case of coronavirus.
In a news release, officials said a prisoner at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham has tested positive.
The male is in his 20's.
Officials said he began showing symptoms on Sunday and is in isolation.
Maine Department of Corrections is working closely with the CDC.
A positive test result for COVID-19 came back Tuesday.
The inmate was transferred to Windham in March and has not required hospitalization.
They are testing staff and other inmates who may have been in areas where the inmate had been.
They are also doing contact tracing for anyone who may have come in contact with the man.
