Longtime New York News Anchor with Ties to WABI Has Died

NEW YORK (AP)-
A female pioneer in television news who started her career here at WABI has passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.

Michele Marsh came to TV5 in 1976 after graduating from Northwestern.

Just a few years later, she arrived in New York City where she became a longtime popular anchor at two TV stations.

Marsh was among the females in TV news who achieved success in the male-dominated profession in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

She won five Emmy Awards during her career.

Michele Marsh was 63.
