Local radio legend Chuck Foster has passed away.

Foster died Tuesday from injuries after a recent fall at his home. He was 64.

Officials with Townsquare Media in Brewer shared the news with listeners Wednesday.

Foster most recently hosted the afternoon radio show on Z107.3.

His radio career spanned 48 years and he could be heard on a number of stations over the years, from Bangor to Portland.

Foster was also the creator of All Hit Videos.

The music video show premiered on TV in Maine in 1983 and was the country's longest running such show.

Townsquare officials say it was so popular it expanded to Saturday nights and topped the local ratings of Saturday Night Live.

At Foster's request, there will be no funeral.

Donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society in his name.
