Local crematorium and remembrance center to host workshop

A local crematorium and remembrance center is offering folks a chance to sign up for a workshop.

Pine Grove Crematorium and Remembrance Center in Bangor will host a two hour workshop April 4th.

It starts at 10 that morning.

The goal is to educate people on a variety of topics including the process of cremation, guidelines and memorialization.

The General Manager of Brookings-Smith said not all crematories are the same.

Jim Fernald said, “At Pine grove Crematories for instance people are allowed to come out and bare witness to the cremation for example. Other crematories don't allow that. There's a lot of things people don't understand as far as guidelines and how we meet the state guidelines or exceed the state guidelines so, it’s great to have people come themselves and give them a complete tour of the facility so they can see firsthand.

There are still spots open for the workshop.
