Lewiston students learn if they'll have a snow day through song

LEWISTON, Maine (WABI) - With snow in the forecast, a lot of kids woke up wondering if they'd have to go to school Tuesday.

Students in Lewiston learned their fate in song.

Superintendent Bill Webster crafted a melody and posted it on the school's Facebook page.

He sang a 50-second prelude, accompanied by a keyboard, guitar and ukulele, telling students he had the answer to their snow day inquiry.

With the help of an accordion, he finally revealed it.

"Here is my answer now, there is no school today. Curse me or praise me, there's no school today!"

For those who couldn't wait to listen to the entire song, Webster followed up with a written Facebook post saying school was cancelled and to have a nice day.
