AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Democratic candidate for governor Janet Mills announced her economic plan Tuesday.
She made the announcement at Kennebec Technologies in Augusta, a small business whose President endorsed the plan.
Some proposals in the plan include the creation of a small business accelerator to help with financing and training, a program to provide no interest loans to small businesses that add employees, and making it easier for Mainers in rural parts of the state to work from home.
"This plan is the result of months of collaboration with people from small business owners, innovators and entrepreneurs, to economists and every day hard working Mainers," says Mills. "This is a plan of action to change Maine's economy for the better."
Mills says her plan would also reduce some of the complicated programs and agencies that people are now forced to go through to get assistance.
