Inmate Escapes From Prison, Found Eight Hours Later

WARREN, Maine (WABI) A prisoner who escaped early Wednesday morning from the Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren is back in custody.

He's the second person to escape in the last two months.

Officials say 33-year-old Jason Brown was missing in an overnight head count at 1 a.m.

He was found about 8 hours later, at 9 a.m.

The Kennebec Journal reports Brown was caught near an auto body shop on the River Road in Cushing.

The newspaper reports the Knox County Sheriff's Department was not notified of the escape and neither was the Thomaston Police Department.

Court records show Brown was sentenced in March 2015 to seven years in prison for arson and aggravated criminal mischief.

Another inmate walked away from a supervised work detail in mid-August and was found about six hours later in Rockland.

The facility has a capacity of more than 200 inmates.
