BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - There's a International House of Pancakes coming to Bangor.
The city planning board voted unanimously Tuesday night to allow the development of the IHOP which will be at The Rodeway Inn on Odlin Road.
The plan is to overhaul the parking lot and add some new landscaping.
The hotel which is currently 90 rooms, will now have 79 to allow for the new additions.
"It's nice to see that existing properties are seeing the upside in reinvesting in their property. We see a lot of buildings that get torn down and businesses starting over. It is really nice to see that a hotel that has been in the Bangor market for a long time sees that there's continued upside in the market and they are reinvesting and updating the product and adding the addition of a free standing restaurant," said Tanya Emery.
With the planning boards approval, work on the IHOP site can begin immediately. No word on when the first pancake might be served.
