MILO, Maine. (WABI) - An explosion shook the town of Milo, Friday night.
Officials said a home exploded on the Ferry Road around 8.
Fire crews were on scene to put out the flames and clear the road of debris.
We're told the homeowners were sent to the hospital with injuries.
Police said the man was sent to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft.
We're told the woman was sent to a Portland hospital to be treated for burns.
The cause is still under investigation at this time.
“I don’t believe the propane tanks exploded themselves. It looks like what we have is some sort of gas built up inside the house, vapors, and there was some sort of ignition and there was an explosion.”
Officials said they'll return on Monday to determine an official cause.
We're told the end of Ferry Road will remain closed until the investigation wraps up.
