Holden police officers are being extra kind for 25 days

HOLDEN, Maine (WABI) - Holden Police officers are in the Christmas spirit.

For the second year in a row, they're gifting their community with 25 days of kindness.

They are surprising different people and organizations with things such as food, money, and toys.

We rode along with Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley while he made deliveries to different charitable organizations and churches.

He says, "This is a chance for us to have interactions with the community that are entirely in a positive way. We're not looking for your expired inspection sticker or you speeding 10 miles over the speed limit. This is a chance to do some good, meet some people, have a positive impact and have some fun."

Holden Police Officers are all participating, challenged to be creative and act on the spur of the moment when they see an opportunity for a random act of kindness.

If you'd like to make a donation, whether it be monetary or a toy, just drop by the Holden Police Department.
