BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - An organization that operates residential homes for people with disabilities is expected to have a new owner by the end of the next month.
The Getchell Agency, which is based in Bangor, filed for bankruptcy in March of 2016.
The Bangor Daily News reports Health Affiliates of Maine has offered $3.4 million as a stalking horse bidder.
That's a bidder that's chosen before an auction to guarantee a willing buyer.
Court documents say a federal bankruptcy judge in Portland plans to name a new owner at a hearing on March 27th.
The Getchell Agency's been facing various financial troubles since former employees filed a lawsuit four years ago over unpaid overtime.
